Rosid
Rosids are a large clade of flowering plants, comprising about 70,000 species. They are part of the eudicots, one of the major groups of angiosperms (flowering plants).1
The diversity of Rosids include a wide variety of plants, such as roses, legumes, and many fruit-bearing trees3. They make up more than a quarter of all angiosperms1.
The rosids are divided into 17 orders and about 140 families. Some of the major orders include Rosales, Fabales, and Malvales.2
Rosids play a crucial role in many ecosystems, providing food and habitat for a wide range of animals. They are also important for human agriculture and horticulture.
